Wool felt in sheet

Wool felt in sheets, also called felt sheets, felt plates or felt in sheets, is made from pressed wool felt. Production is governed by SAE specifications F-1 to F-55, DIN specification no. 61200, Federal Specification CF 206, British Specification No. BS-4060 and Russian specification no. GOST 6308-71.

Pressed wool felt in the form of sheets or boards is also often known as "Technical felt boards".

Specifications of wool felt in sheets:

- composition: pure wool felt (100% wool) or blended felt (wool / man-made fibers)

- thickness: from 2 mm to 50 mm

- density: from 0.20 g / cm3 (very soft) to 0.68 g / cm3 (very hard)

- colors: natural white or grey

Wool felt in boards has a similar application as wool felt in rolls. The main difference is in the design. Wool felt in sheets is usually produced in the format 1000 x 1000 mm. This design is used especially at larger thicknesses or densities, when it is no longer optimal to roll such felt into a roll.

Felt boards / plates can be found in countless applications and industries, where they are mainly used for the production of various components, cutouts, washers, seals, insulation, lubrication equipment and parts, damping components and washers, work pads, cleaning components, squeegees, etc. It is mainly used in the mechanical, electrical, transport, packaging, automotive and steel industries.
